How to choose the size

Width and height are measured in blocks. A design 128 blocks wide fits a small mural, while 512 or more takes many chunks and a long session. Keep the proportions of the picture unless you want to stretch it.

The size presets go from 64 to 2048, and you can type any value up to 4096 on each side.

Dithering and colour

Without dithering, each pixel takes the closest block colour, which leaves flat areas. Floyd–Steinberg dithering spreads the error to neighbouring pixels, so gradients look smoother with the same blocks.

Choose the blocks that fit your build

Filters help you keep the blocks that suit a wall or a floor. You can leave out transparent blocks such as glass and leaves, blocks that fall such as sand and gravel, ores, machines and animated textures.

The materials list counts every block, the stacks of 64 and the shulker boxes, so you know what to gather before you start.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make Minecraft pixel art?

Choose an image, set the size in blocks, pick the blocks you want and generate the plan. The preview shows the result and the materials list.

Which image formats can I use?

Any image format your browser can open.

What is the largest size?

Up to 4096 blocks on each side. Very large plans take longer to generate, so start with a smaller size.

Do I need a modpack?

No. The vanilla palette is built in. A modpack only adds more blocks to choose from.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no payment.

Can I build the result in the game?

Yes. Export a .litematic file for Litematica or a .schem file for WorldEdit, or use the materials list to gather the blocks.
