When to choose .schem

Choose .schem when you build with WorldEdit or FAWE, the editing tools that paste schematics with commands. PackPixel writes the Sponge schematic format, version 2, which both tools read.

The older .schematic format is not generated. Use .schem instead.

How to load and paste the schematic

Put the .schem file in the config/worldedit/schematics folder of your instance or server. Then run //schem load followed by the file name, and //paste to place it at your position.

If the position is wrong, run //undo and paste again.

Choosing the blocks and the size

Pick the blocks from your modpack, or use the vanilla palette if you want a build that works in any world. Filters can leave out glass, leaves, gravity-affected blocks and machines.

Sizes go up to 4096 blocks on each side. Pick a size that fits your build area, and watch the height warning for wall builds.

Frequently asked questions

What is a .schem file?

A .schem file stores the blocks, their states and their positions in the Sponge schematic format, which WorldEdit and FAWE can load and paste.

Which version of WorldEdit do I need?

Use WorldEdit or FAWE with a version that reads the Sponge .schem format. If the file does not load, check the version of the tool first.

Where do I put the file?

In the config/worldedit/schematics folder of your instance or server. Then load it with //schem load.

Can I use .schem with Litematica?

No. Litematica reads .litematic files, so download the .litematic export for it.

Is the .schem export free?

Yes. The export is part of the free tool, with no sign-up.
